I Hear Your Voice Review

tbqh one of the reasons why I started this drama was, well... I curious about the lucky woman who gets all that Ji Sung loving on a daily basis. Yep, the woman who plays the main character is married to sex personified, Ji Sung (from protect the boss and Secret).

AND Lee Da Hee (who plays Do Yeon in this drama) was in Secret too!! So she has acted with both Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young. Idk I just thought that was pretty cool.

Yoon Sang Hyun has gotten so much better looking with age. Not that he wasn't good looking before cuz he certainly was, but there's just something... hotter about him now I don't know how to explain it. Maybe it's the haircut? There's something about his eyes too. they have this sort of effortless smolder to them they're like mysteriously sexy and it seems like he doesn't notice at all. idk maybe it's just me.

Lee Jong Suk has the most perfectest lips i've ever seen on a living creature. Like, this man is beautiful it's absolutely crazy.
I'd also like to point out that both Jong Suk and Yoon Sang Hyun (Oska) were in Secret Garden! I personally think Secret Garden is an iconic Kdrama for multiple reasons but we're not going to get into that. Anyway, my point is, Jong Suk's character in SG was gay and he had an unrequited crush on Oska!! I find that so hilarious because it's like "since I couldn't have you in Secret Garden, I'm gonna steal yo girl in I Can Hear Your Voice".

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, let's get into the drama.
Our leading lady- Jang Hye Sung

Lawyer Jang's growth was so beautiful and  important. It was great to watch her slowly find value in what she was for a living rather than just doing it for a pay check.  As much as Lawyer Cha annoyed sometimes, he had a hand in her transformation. I really enjoyed their friendship because you could tell that they LEARNED from each other. It was also great because their personalities were so different. Honestly, I kind of enjoyed Jang's idgaf attitude in the first episodes. Yes, it was wrong but it was also hilarious. But I prefer who she became because she learned to use the skills that came natural to her. She always had the potential to be a kick ass defense attorney. All she needed was just some motivation and a high stakes situation to push her in the right direction. Overall she was hilarious and sassy and she didn't really have to do much to win me over. I was on side from the very first episode.

Our Golden Boy Park Soo Ha

I have so say, Soo Ha was pretty much perfect. Smart, extremely good looking, caring, great cook AND he can read minds. I felt soo bad for him because he was like a wounded puppy thrown into the rain and forced to fend for himself. He could've turned out to be a lot of things but luckily he found some inner strength and was able to keep his head on straight. Plus, the dream of meeting Jang Hye Sung again kept him going while he faced all the hardships. Whenever he would cry I would have this deep urge to reach into my laptop screen and give him the biggest and longest hug he's ever had. Honestly, It was hard for me to find faults in his character because he literally has none. He was so caring and compassionate and I really wished that after his father died, somebody had given him the kind of love and compassion he gave to others when he grew up. Because like I said, he could've turned out to be a lot of things He could've become a mean, heartless, cold jerk but he turned out to be the complete opposite.

Mr. Goody Two Shoes Lawyer Cha

I didn't think Yoon Sang Hyun could pull off a character like this but I was totally wrong.
I had mixed feelings about  Lawyer Cha. Like sometimes I would be like "aigoo.. he's so sweet! Why can't she like him!?" and then other times I would be like "Yep, he belongs in the friendzone". He annoyed be specifically when he realized that Jang liked Soo Ha.
In one scene he told Soo Ha to stop "acting" like a man because he's just a "kid in a suit". he also said that Jang was only taking care of him because he's a high school drop out with no future. and he basically told him to not think of it as anything other than pity (aka don't think she's in love with you cuz you're just a pitiful child to her).
anyway I found it annoying because he called Soo Ha a child yet he was the one being childish and delusional.
Like yes, Soo Ha is younger than you but 1) he's been taking care of himself for YEARS so he basically had like no childhood 2) You know damn well it's more than just pity. Don't lie to yourself.

Then again I know he was jealous and jealously tends to bring out the worst in all of us but for someone who always acted like he was some big ball of positive energy, he was being a real asshole.

BUT on the other hand, I still liked Lawyer Cha because he was a damn good lawyer. He really shined in court and made me go "ahhh.. you've got a point there" a lot. Despite the fact that he was in love with Jang, he was still able to be a good friend to her and he also had  lots of great advice.

Ice Queen Do Yeon

I really disliked Do Yeon for the most part because of her overly smug attitude. Especially after what she made Jang go through. I feel like their first conversation should have involved her at least addressing what happened. Instead she acted like she and Jang were like rivals or something. I wanted to grab her and be like "YOU HAVE NO REASON TO BE SNIPPY WITH JANG! YOU WERE THE ONE WHO WAS IN THE WRONG NOT HER, YA STUPID BITCH!". I know it happened when they were kids but I still felt like her reluctance to even address made it worse. but then again that was something she got from her father (the unwillingness to admit when you're wrong). I started to feel for her during the last 2-3 episodes tho, because it was just an awful situation to be in and I don't know how I personally would've handled it. I think it was really sweet how she eventually handled the situation and she also eventually apologized to Jang which was basically what I had been waiting for since the first episode. She finally allowed the ice around her heart to melt and she started to become a warmer and more open person which I appreciated.

In conclusion, I really really really liked this drama. It was mostly lighthearted and cute but also really well written.
My heart felt like it was going to pop out of my chest when the last scene was over and the OST started playing. I wanted to talk about the last scene in more detail but this is already too long so i'm going to end it here.
